1) Research Topic

-CONNECTION-

Based on the theme given for this final project which is sight, sound and space, what i have decide to develop my research is on the connection between these elements.

2) Background

'CONNECTION' may refer to ;

 a relationship in which a person or thing is linked or associated with something else.

"the connections between social attitudes and productivity"

synonym : link, relationship, relation, relatedness, interrelation, interrelatedness,interconnection, interdependence, association,  attachment, bond, tie,tie-in, correspondence, parallel, analogy;

-SIGHT SOUND SPACE-

'SIGHT' - the power or faculty of seeing; perception of objects by use of the eyes; vision.

In the field of visual perception, sight can be defined as the ability to interpret the surrounding environment by processing information that is contained in visible light. The resulting perception is also known as eyesight, sight, or vision (adjectival form:visual, optical, or ocular). The various physiological components involved in vision are referred to collectively as the visual system, and are the focus of much research in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, and molecular biology, collectively referred to as vision science.

'SOUND' - In physics, sound is a vibration that propagates as a typically audible mechanical wave of pressure and displacement, through a medium such as air or water. In physiology and psychology, sound is the reception of such waves and their perception by the brain.

'SPACE' -  is the boundless three-dimensional extent in which objects and events have relative position and direction. Physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions, although modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of a boundless four-dimensional continuum known as spacetime. In mathematics, "spaces" are examined with different numbers of dimensions and with different underlying structures. The concept of space is considered to be of fundamental importance to an understanding of the physical universe. However, disagreement continues between philosophers over whether it is itself an entity, a relationship between entities, or part of aconceptual framework.

► What I'm trying to identify here is the connection bonding between these three elements that exist in the same time delivered through a certain medium. For simple example based on my point of view,if the car pass by the road in the certain time and space, the movement of the car can be seen which is visible to the eyes together with the sound produced by the car engine can be heard by the hearing ears. All these happened in the same time paralleling to each other.

3) Problem Identification

The problem is I'm trying to relate this connection among living or non-living things consist of, either technical connection, interaction between living thing or object, among humans,feelings and emotions, or spiritual connection. For summary in a simple word, "are everything connected to each other?"

"All for One, One for All."

For Example : - 

(1) Connection among human beings - relate to feelings,emotions and behavior.

(2) Connection with nature - relate to effect of bad human behavior to nature ; we are a part of nature among the living in the ecosystem.

(3) Spiritual Connection - connection with God. belive that good returns good ; bad returns bad. relate to daily life, current issues,world phenomena.

4) Aim and Objective

To prove that the connection happen weather its positive or negative is refer to the action.

There will be a Connection in between either it positive or negative.

5) Ideation & Concept

Everything is connected to each other even to the smallest particle which is atom, perfectly placed together makes the nature so perfect ,with the power that beyond our thinking on how the connection works.

In my opinion, positive connection is made by the Creator of nature with no error ,example; Human being, other living things, placement of the earth, 

Negative connection mostly made by human that cause destruction to nature, commit crimes, and many more.

I think this is great artwork consist of balance and contrast related to my research topic concept on positive and negative connection.

IRIS is an interactive medium for visual simplicity which uses the passage of ambient light, not emission of light itself. The installation below consists of 400 LCDs (20×20), 20 Custom-designed Arduino compatible controllers and Processing and Kinect used for both autoactive & interactive content play.

►These two interactive art installations is really caught my attention because it use new media art that i plan to apply on this project.
